Founder & CEO · Senior Advisor, NED & Mentor · Accenture Alumnus (Ex-MD)
Guido Mercati is a founder, board-level advisor and systems strategist working across next-tech, AI and regenerative growth — where technology, business models, culture and planetary opportunities and bottlenecks converge.
I help founders, boards and institutions make complex innovation economically viable, culturally legible, and responsibly scalable.
My methodology
A method borrowed from philosophy and pressure-tested in boardrooms and labs — three moves from inherited assumption to a venture that earns its place.
Tear down inherited prejudices, sunk assumptions and "the way it's always been done." Strip the venture to first principles — its physics, unit economics and human behaviour — until only what is actually true remains.
Formulate a new hypothesis and redesign the business model for its optimal vocation — the highest use of the technology, where value and purpose are engineered together rather than traded off.
Turn deep technology into something culturally legible, commercially fundable and responsibly governed — so it earns both margins and social permission, and stays true to the hypothesis as it scales.
The signal map
Not a service menu — the live fields where I operate, and where the next role models get built.
Turning captured CO₂ and biology into industry — hard-tech that earns both margins and social permission.
Deploying AI where it pays — Layer-2, outcome-first — without surrendering judgment, culture or craft.
Fermentation, precision nutrition and the invisible infrastructure of what we eat.
Growth that compounds value without becoming extractive. Purpose designed in, not bolted on.
Category design, GTM, commercialization and the operating models that let scale hold.
Steering complexity from the board — stakeholder alignment, responsible AI, decisions that survive pressure.
Reading semiotics and markets — making deep technology culturally legible.
Selected work
A carbon-to-product deep-tech venture: continuous microbial fermentation using captured CO₂ to produce sustainable protein at ~3x efficiency versus plant-based. Advanced from concept to pilot-ready technology (TRL7) in four years.
Built end to end — IP via WIPO/PCT, regulatory framework, industrial pilots and MoUs with CNR Italy and Donaldson Group USA. Accelerated at EIT Food / Technion and Mondelēz's first deep-tech acceleration programme in the USA, then MassChallenge Switzerland — ranked in Rabobank's top quadrant for foodtech innovation and named among Founders Lair's Top 50 global foodtech startups.
Deal Partner at Boardy Ventures — sourcing next-tech ventures worldwide for the first AI-led fund (with AngelList) — and Board Member of Boardy PRO, the new AI agent for entrepreneurs, innovators and investors globally.
Medtech, space-tech & Earth observation, power electronics, smart mobility, bioreactor engineering and AI/CRM ventures — across the EU and the GCC.

Co-founder and CEO of a carbon-to-product biotech, advanced to pilot-ready (TRL7) in four years. The realities of IP, regulation, pilots and capital — not theory.
Advisory, NED, investment and ecosystem work in technologies that must earn social permission and commercial traction — next-tech, biotech, climate, food and AI.
Where I get involved
Each engagement has a clear entry point — and a clear outcome for the client.
Next-tech founders & scaleups
Category design, GTM, operating-model choices, investor readiness.
A venture that raises, ships and scales — not a deck.
CEOs, boards, investors, institutions
Growth strategy, transformation, governance, stakeholder alignment.
Decisions that hold under pressure — and value that compounds.
Accelerators, corporates, governments, universities
Programmes, venture sourcing, partnerships, thought leadership.
A pipeline — and a market — that didn't exist before.
Contact
I work with people, organizations and investors building things that need to matter — commercially, culturally, and beyond the next quarter.
